Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist, television personality and owner of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. She emigrated out of Greece to England at the age of 16 and obtained a MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. She was the first student who was not from the UK to be elected president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she became an influential voice for the Huffington Post. Arianna was able to attract many prominent contributors to share their opinions regarding politics and culture. Arianna was first noticed during 2003 when she volunteered in California's recall vote, to succeed Governor Davis. In addition to this, she led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on its list for the Most influential women in the media. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their list of the top 100 in the year 2010. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her president of the media group, which also included other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and manager Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. The way she lived her life was determined by the closeness she had to her mother as well as her relationship with her dad, even though she was very close to the latter. Through her early times, she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which her name is still well-known. At the age of 16, she moved from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge.
